Many Colorado homes have expansive soil which is a fact that is ignored by other contractors. It is important to remove soft spots and fill with gravel and crushed rock to withstand driveway weight requirements. The type of material you use for your driveway is another concern. If using concrete, we make sure we use a proper mix ratio for your region which will ensure proper performance and longevity for your driveway. Then of course there is correctly placed joints and reinforcement concerns. We pay attention to these details all the way down to the multi-step process we use for proper finishing.
We research and seek out only the highest quality materials whether it be concrete, macadam or pavers/stone. You can trust Advantage Construction to do the job RIGHT.

Asphalt is an economical option for driveway surface material. Price of asphalt driveways can fluctuate because it is an oil-based product. Being a petroleum product, asphalt driveways are flexible and are less susceptible to the fluctuating temperatures in Colorado. The downside to asphalt is the maintenance requirements and style limitations. In extremely hot climates, asphalt can become so soft that it is actually pliable. This is not a concern for Colorado residents.
Let's not pour over the pros and cons of a concrete driveway. It's a great choice! Concrete driveways have a life expectancy of about 30 years and even longer with proper care. Maintenance is easy with regular maintenance and periodic pressure washing. Chemicals can be used while pressure washing to remove oil and tire marks. Concrete driveways can be stained different colors and poured into eye-catching patterns. Concrete can also be stamped for an enhanced faux stone look! See the next section on stamped concrete driveways.
It's proven that concrete last longer than any other driveway material. Cracks don't usually occur for a long time and potholes are nearly impossible to appear. A huge draw for concrete driveways is its ability to be stained in a variety of colors but most importantly, it can be stamped to appear like stone. Surface additives can even be pressed into the finished slab for a more unique and custom look. There are so many options and styles to choose from. Let one of our friendly, no-pressure design representatives help you find the perfect stamped concrete look for your driveway!
Concrete may be the 'standard' option for driveways but nothing beats the classic beauty of a paver driveway. Pavers grab your attention and give your house that eye-catching curb appeal. We take the same care in preparing your driveway surface for pavers as we do for poured concrete and asphalt driveways. Sometimes even greater attention to detail is required.
