Asphalt is an economical option for driveway surface material. Price of asphalt driveways can fluxuate because it is an oil-based product. Being a petroleum product, asphalt driveways are flexible and are less susceptible to the fluctuating temperatures in Colorado. The downside to asphalt are the maintenance requirements and style limitations. In extermely hot climates, asphalt can become so soft that it is actually pliable. This is not a concern for Colorado residents.
